A note on planning your visit

Da Lat sits at about 1,500 m altitude and the light here is strong even on cool days, which is why sunglasses and UV protection come up so often in conversations with visitors. If you are in town for only a few days, it helps to come in early rather than on your last afternoon: simple prescriptions can often be finished the same day, but higher powers, progressive lenses and specialist coatings may need to be ordered.

You do not need an appointment. If you already wear glasses, bring your current pair — measuring them is the fastest way to understand what you are used to, even when you do not have a written prescription with you.

What is included at no charge

Two things are worth knowing before you compare prices anywhere:

  • The eye test is free when you buy lenses. You are not paying separately for the refraction.
  • Aftercare is free for the life of the glasses — ultrasonic cleaning, re-adjustment when the frame loosens, replacement screws and replacement nose pads. This applies whether you are in Da Lat for a week or live here.

The refraction is done on Essilor and Nidek equipment. That matters mainly for repeatability: the objective reading that starts the test is taken by machine, then refined subjectively with you.

Planning your visit

Allow about 30 minutes for a straightforward eye test and frame selection. If your prescription is simple and the lens is in stock, the glasses can often be finished the same day; progressive, high-index and specialist tint work is ordered in and takes longer. If you are on a short trip, come earlier in your stay rather than the day before you leave.

Bring your current glasses if you have them, and a written prescription if you already hold one. A photograph of the prescription on your phone is fine.

Getting in touch before you come

The fastest way to check whether something is in stock, or to ask whether your prescription can be finished the same day, is to message rather than call — it avoids the language friction of a phone call.
